Who are we?
The Eastern Meadows family is a congregation of the non-denominational church of Christ. We are committed to the
work as our Lord, Jesus Christ, and the New Testament exemplify (Mark 16:15-18). We worship Him in ways that He and
the inspired New Testament writers instructed us (2 Timothy 3:16,17). Much of our heritage can be traced through
the "Restoration Movement" (1700-1900's America) and all the way back to the book of Acts.
When you visit Eastern Meadows church of Christ, you can expect to find:
- A loving family focused on maintaining and growing New Testament Christianity;
- Imperfect people who believe in the perfect plan of Christ;
- Christians who are active, Godly agents in our community;
- Opportunities for individual and group Bible studies, marriage and family enrichment, and fellowship;
- A worship service that is reverent, sincere, and based on instructions and examples from the New
Testament;
- An intriguing class and study curriculum to enhance your knowledge of the Bible.
THE CHURCH OF CHRIST
(ROMANS 16:16)
Jesus said, I will build my church (Matt 16:18)
The Church had a great beginning as the apostle Peter preached the first gospel sermon, and in one day, about
3,000 souls "gladly received the word" and were baptized (Acts 2:41). From there, the bible says that "the Lord
added to the church daily those who were being saved" (Acts 2:47).
Jesus declared, "All authority has been given unto me in heaven and on earth" (Matthew 28:18). Shortly
thereafter, Jesus ascended up into heaven, but He told his apostles that he would send the Holy Spirit to remind
them of all that He had taught them (John 14:26), and to guide them "into all truth" (John 16:13). These apostles
recognized Jesus as the "head over all things to the church" (Ephesians 1:22).
